Teeth Whitening Kit Duo Bundle FAQs
How Long Will Whitening Last?
Ever heard the saying ‘don’t compare apples with pears?’ What makes us unique is who we are at our core. Our routines, and habits and biology shape us as the individuals we are and of course the experiences that we have. Some will notice immediate results from treatments and others may need to persist a little longer to achieve desired results. Regardless of which method of teeth whitening you use; one thing remains unanimous: it won’t last forever. Like all good things, to maintain longevity of results it is important to foster good aftercare measures. Maintaining Teeth Whitening To help maintain results, it is always a good idea to consider in-between treatment top ups. Some may find their teeth stay white for 6 months, whilst others may last for up to 2 years. Topping up your teeth whitening regularly and using safe and effective maintenance products, such as the Icy Bear Diamond Dust Toothpaste, (which works by inhibiting and preventing stains) will help increase the longevity of those pearly whites. Just think of it like your after-sun lotion after a long day at the beach! Lifestyle Habits Ultimately, the biggest cause of discolouration overtime will result from your lifestyle habits. Smoking or chewing tobacco, red wine, coffee and tomato-based sauces and curries over a period of time, will reduce how long your teeth stay white. These are considered to be ‘high-staining’ products, similarly, specific medications can also impact the colour of your teeth. Practise makes perfect and by making small adaptations over a substantial period of time, this will transform and upgrade your overall oral health routine.
What Does The Light Do?
The light element of the kit simply acts as an accelerator. It works by activating the ingredients within your whitening gel and accelerating the speed at which the PAP technology and whitening formula gets to work. The light itself does not whiten the teeth.
Foods To ‘Reduce’ When Whitening Teeth.
Although staining is typically caused gradually over a period of time, it is important to remember that when whitening your teeth, the whitening agents must penetrate the tooths surface layer to dissolve the stains deep within. This means that during the course of your whitening treatment (particularly 30 minutes before and after) your teeth are more exposed, and so it is important to take good care in between treatments by limiting exposure to high staining foods such as: Tea & Coffee Tomato and curried food Smoking/Vaping Moderation with ‘high-staining’ foods is key when whitening your teeth. There is very little benefit in adopting an ‘all white diet’ as staining typically occurs either through prolonged exposure or intense exposure to high staining food. To benefit from getting the best results possible, limit consumption of high staining food and drink not just during, but crucially after your whitening treatment.
How To Prevent Staining Your Teeth After Whitening?
To keep your teeth as white as possible for as long as possible after a course of teeth whitening, it is essential to ensure you maintain thorough and effective daily oral hygiene practises. Many finish their daily oral routine with flossing at the end, and some don’t floss at all! It is important to carry out a step-by-step oral routine, just as you prep, wash and moisturise your skin. Flossing before brushing your teeth is far more effective to ensure you are not wiping the fluoride away from the teeth after brushing. It is important that fluoride is allowed to settle on your teeth after brushing to help replenish enamel that can be worn away by altering PH levels in the mouth caused by food consumption throughout the day. Restored enamel = better teeth whitening results. Remember, only natural tooth enamel can whiten. Using a whitening toothpaste is a great way to prevent any staining that may occur from food and drinks. Preventative measures are always better than treatment however it is important to remember that not all whitening toothpastes are made equal. Beware of cheap whitening toothpastes, which are often highly abrasive and have a gritty feel. Highly abrasive toothpaste can be damaging to enamel and should not be used regularly as they will do more harm than good by wearing the enamel away. Remember, the healthier the enamel level the better the whitening results achieved. Our multi-award-winning Icy Bear Diamond Dust Toothpaste benefits from Diamond dust that is optimised to be effectively abrasive, and removes discolouration from teeth by polishing, dissolving stains and creating a protective barrier which prevents new stains from forming.
